Turntable Saves Life of Ninety Years Old Resident!
Case Study No.1

The conversion of a sub-standard driveway to a safe and lawful site for an elderly gentleman who had reversed out every day for over two decades into the fast moving traffic of a busy village road. Berkshire

The Problem:

He had lived in the property for over twenty years and the traffic had trebled in that time.
The dangerous manoeuvre of leaving the property on to
the road had caused three accidents.

The Solution:

The Solution: The gentleman was overjoyed when he discovered Car Parking Solutions. They installed a turntable in his driveway to enable him to drive in and drive out in a forward direction.

As he says “I was so pleased to have found a solution to my parking problem by requesting CPS to supply me with a car turntable. I couldn’t live without my turntable now. Thank you Car Parking Solutions!”

Dangerous Site Now Provides Lawful Parking for Two Cars

Case Study No. 2

The conversion of cottage frontage into a turnaround facility and additional parking. Wiltshire

The Problem:

The two car family necessitated parking one car off road in front of the cottage whilst the second car had to be parked in a layby fifty metres away. A very unsatisfactory and unsafe situation.

The Solution:

The cottage was situated on the bend of a busy rural road where heavy agricultural machinery thundered by at all hours. A 3.8M diameter block paved turntable secured turnaround and on-site parking for the two vehicles. The infilling of the turntable with tastefully coloured blocks
created a sympathetic blend with the local style of stone.

The installation of a CPS car turntable not only upgraded the amenities of the site, making the frontage aesthetically pleasing, importantly it increased the safety of the family and vehicles and added 20% to the value of the property.

The very satisfied home owners said“ We were so pleased to have found a solution to our parking problems requesting CPS to supply us with a car turntable. We couldn’t live without our turntable now. Thank you Car Parking Solutions!”

A Confined Site Designed to Incorporate Parking for One Small Car

Case Study No. 3

Innovative design of a turntable installation within the garage of a Grade 2 listed building to allow safe,
unobtrusive turnaround for one car. Hampshire

The Problem:

To convert a long, narrow driveway courtyard into a secure car parking facility where the only alternative was to leave the vehicle in the street. Turnaround in the garage allows the car to enter and leave through the brick arch in a forward direction.

The Solution:
A 3.4M diameter inset CPS car turntable afforded elderly downsizers the safe and secure parking
they were accustomed to in their previous extensive property environment.

“We are truly delighted with our new acquisition!” exclaimed the couple, “we had no idea that this type of equipment was available until our builder suggested it”.

A Turntable Upgrade/Replacement of an Earlier Less Durable Table Not Built and Installed by CPS
Case Study No. 4

We were requested to replace a poorly designed car turntable with a superior quality CPS model.
Our turntables are constantly proven to be very durable and user-friendly, allowing safe, lawful turnaround within the homeowner's leafy front garden. Ireland

The Problem:
This case proves that an inferior turntable will not stand the test of time. It was also manually rotated
which was hardly satisfactory for turning around a large executive car. The inconvenience of such a method is obvious and totally out of character for such a desirable residence.

The Solution:
CPS installed a high quality turntable which blended in perfectly with the surroundings of the small, well
kept garden. Adding an motor driven rotation drive made for easy and safe turnaround of the car from
the comfort of the driving seat.

The very relieved gentleman said “I wish I had contacted CPS years ago instead of making do with
what I now realise was a far inferior product”.

As Part of a Refurbishment Programme the Customer Required Four Parking Bays in the Courtyard of his Grade 2 Listed Property

Case Study No.5

The customer required easy vehicle access to and from his garage. A tight driveway led to a brick archway and from there the busy highway of the ancient town. Hertfordshire

The Problem:
To convert the walled courtyard into a secure parking facility where no alternative street parking was available due to various restrictions. Incorporated in the scheme/design was a CPS car turntable to provide rotation of vehicles making it possible to exit and return from the highway in a forward direction as required by law.

The Solution:
A 4M (13‘3“) diameter inset CPS car turntable fully satisfied all the legal and safety conditions for the on-site parking . The 4M turntable proved highly suitable for the customers large car as well as his medium size vehicles The operation of rotating the vehicle and placing it in a bay was made very easy with just the click of a button.

“It was the ideal answer to a far from ideal situation” said Mr E.

Planning Refusal Overturned Due to Turntable Installation
Case Study No. 6

To upgrade the front garden of a Devon family home providing on-site parking with a turntable. A turntable facility was imperative to obtain planning approval.

The Problem:
To overcome the local restrictions of street parking and to obtain the necessary planning approval for a drop kerb incorporating the obligatory turnaround facility for cars to enter and leave in a forward direction. The only means of obtaining the required planning consent was to specify a car turntable to rotate the vehicle around safely to satisfy the insurance, legal and safety issues.

The Solution:
A 3.6M diameter turntable was installed by Car Parking Solutions to fully satisfy all planning consent conditions. The home owners were then able to position their car safely and securely away from the street.

“The turntable proved the perfect answer to our parking problems”. Mr and Mrs P-W

House Value Increases due to Domestic Turntable Installation

Case Study No. 7

Hilltop detached property overlooking 3 bays and the sea, Jersey

The Problem: A charming detached home with open views over the sea and 3 sandy bays was extremely motor vehicle unfriendly. Access is down a steep slope, turning 90 degrees in to a small courtyard in front of the double garage. In fact, in the wet, it was simply not possible to get a car out of the garage and reverse up and around the steep gradient. Both cars were therefore reluctantly parked overnight on the driveway of a very understanding neighbour. The solution was spotted in the Daily Star, and the rest is history.

The Solution:

The 3.5M (11’6”) diameter CPS Car Turntable with hydraulic motor drive and in-car control, sited in front of the garage door and a slight widening of the access into the courtyard, proved to be the complete answer. The delighted owners were pleasantly surprised when a local estate agent advised them that the turntable added four times the installation cost to the value of their home. A sound investment, when the initial brief was to enhance the amenities they enjoyed from their home, to use the garage and to allow cars to easily drive forwards in and out of their property.

Case Study No. 8

Retirement bungalow with 90° bend mid-way down the driveway – Suffolk.

The Problem: A retirement bungalow with 90° bend mid-way down the driveway did not have enough space to turn around outside the garage. A newly built, (neighbour’s) low-level boundary wall on the apex of the bend, made access matters worse. The need for reversing onto the road was made more difficult by the growing traffic flow and the increasing maturity of the homeowner, who relied on the car for independence and mobility.

The Solution:

The 3.6M (11’10”) diameter CPS Car Turntable provided the turn around facility desperately needed in the driveway. Positioned close to the garage door, it “cost effectively” solved the problem. The electro-hydraulic power driven turntable has in-car control for customer convenience. The miniature handheld transmitters feature an extra button to open and close the automated garage door. The dwarf wall now causes no problem as it can be seen when driving in and out forwards. The enhanced amenities, ease of use and ability to drive in and out of the property forwards immediately boosted its value by approximately double the cost of the installation and the value is still rising.

Case Study No. 9

Detached property on a hilltop setting with outstanding views - Gloucestershire

The Problem: A charming detached bungalow with open views over the countryside suffered from extremely motor vehicle unfriendly access and the need to turn 90 degrees to use the garage. The concrete apron to the front of the garage door was simply not wide enough for even the smallest of cars to enter and leave the garage without a great deal of shunting backwards and forwards. The result was that the garage was only used for storage. Reversing from the apron onto the road infringed the “Planning Consent condition for all vehicle movements to and from the road” since these should be made in a forward direction.

The Solution:

The 3.5M (11’6”) diameter CPS car turntable with powered rotation and in-car control, sited in front of the garage door enabled the owner to drive in forwards and park on the turntable, push one button on the handset to turn 90 degrees providing accurate positioning for garaging. By turning 180 degrees it was a simple matter to return to the road in a forward direction. The second button on the handset controls the opening and closing of the garage doors.

The owners were delighted when a local estate agent advised them that the turntable had already added some £25,000 to the value of the property. A sound investment when the initial brief was just to fulfil the Planning Consent Conditions and to be able to park the car in the garage overnight.

Case Study No. 10

To renovate a derelict yet individual terraced house required on-site parking for Local Authority approval. – Bristol.

The Problem: To obtain consent for refurbishing a derelict house the project needed to comply with current Planning and Building Regulations and all the Local Byelaws, this included the provision of on-site parking. Knowing the history of the terrace, a local builder rose to the challenge and gradually restored the property, but the parking problem then needed solving.

The Solution:

The 3.6M (11’8”) diameter CPS inset car turntable with manual rotation, provided the turnaround facility which enabled on-site car parking, fully satisfying the Planning Consent conditions.

The enhanced amenities, ease of use and ability to drive in and out of their property forwards immediately boosted the price of the property by double the cost of the installation and the value is still rising.

Case Study No. 11

A detached town centre home with elevated views and a side access to the rear courtyard for parking and the garage - Devon.

The Problem: To gain vehicular access to the rear courtyard required carefully aligning the car between the house and boundary wall, driving up the slope and turning sharply into the small courtyard. To use the garage the car needed to be manoeuvred back and forth. To leave the garage without scratching the car was equally difficult, so the car was regularly street-parked or left just on site. It was not feasible to turnaround the vehicle within the boundaries of the property to comply with the current legal, safety and insurance requirements for vehicles to enter and leave the road in a forward direction.

The Solution: The 3.5M (11’6”) diameter CPS car turntable with powered rotation and in-car control was sited centrally in the courtyard, directly in front of the garage door. This proved to be the complete answer. The delighted owners were pleasantly surprised when the house was recently valued and the valuer advised them that the turntable had already added double the installation cost to the value of their home proving it a very sound investment indeed.

Case Study No. 12

A semi-detached town centre home with elevated views over open countryside, with rear sited brick built garage and covered courtyard walk way to the back door - Devon.

The Problem: The property was part of an older estate built before the car boom. The owner had built a garage in the back garden, but driving into it necessitated carefully aligning the car between the house and boundary wall, slaloming through the courtyard chicane and then into the garage. To reverse back onto the road without damage was very challenging in the narrower 1950’s cars, but almost impossible with the wider modern family cars. In addition, current safety and insurance requirements now demand that vehicles enter and leave the road in a forward direction.

The Solution:

A 3.5M (11’6”) diameter CPS car turntable sited between the back door and the garage door provided the turnaround facility desperately needed. The available space was just sufficient for the rotating car to clear the house, the garage and boundary fence, enabling forward movement in both directions through the 2M (6’6”) wide gap. This installation allowed cars to leave and join the highway safely in a forward gear. The car is also now safely locked away at night and protected from bad weather. Currently the system uses “manual” rotation, this can be replaced with a powered drive unit if required.

The installation has immediately boosted the price of the property by over five times its installation cost.

Case Study No. 13

A secluded, detached, walled cottage with vehicular access via a narrow adopted lane - Hampshire.

The Problem: In-line car parking always necessitated the removal of the second vehicle to allow the first to leave the property. In addition, the cottage is sited at the end of a narrow lane with no turning facility, this meant that any vehicle leaving the drive had to reverse out and then down the full length of the lane negotiating parked cars as it went. This failed to comply with the current safety requirements i.e. being able to drive in and out of their property in a forward gear. Finally, at the end of the lane, it was necessary to reverse onto the main-road against the traffic flow.

The Solution:

The 3.65M (11’10”) diameter CPS car turntable sited centrally by the carport, with powered rotation, in-car control and automatic gates, all controlled from a miniature handheld transmitter. The first car to arrive enters the lane, activates the automatic gates, drives through and onto the turntable, rotates 110 degrees and parks under the carport. The second or third cars enter the same way and are rotated sufficiently to find a clear parking space. Any vehicle can leave and safely re-enter the lane in a forward direction, by simply reversing onto the turntable, rotating around to face the opening gates and driving out. The turntable allowed the owners to keep the treasured garden with its fruit trees intact and they were also pleasantly surprised when a recent valuation proved that the turntable had been an excellent financial investment.

Case Study No. 14

An individual, newly built, quality home at 4 half-levels. Detached double garage with cobbled stone-setts lane access to the Highway Cheshire.

The Problem: To satisfy all the current terms, conditions and regulations necessary to obtain Planning Consent, the Highways Department, Building Control, Local Byelaws and all the mains services requirements, for development, required vehicle access, parking and turnaround issues to be fulfilled. In addition consideration was to be given to the current safety and insurance requirements requiring that vehicles enter and leave the road in a forward direction.

The Solution:

A 3.8M (12’) nominal diameter inset CPS car turntable finished with granite setts to blend with the driveway. The Architect specified the CPS Car Turntable to provide the turnaround facility without the need of a conventional hammerhead, which would have incurred massive construction cost. The turntable also dramatically increased the soft and natural landscaping area available, attractively blending in with the project.

The Value of Your Property Increases when a Two Car Turntable is Installed
Case Study No. 15

Refurbishment of a 1950's property incorporating parking for three or four vehicles within the boundary. A turntable has provided the turnaround facility within the front garden. Hampshire

The Problem:

To allow safe multi-vehicle parking in the front garden and garage driveway. A requirement of law is for all vehicles to access the highway in a forward direction. By installing a Car Parking Solutions turntable all safety criteria are met and as a bonus, the value of the property increases dramatically.

The Solution:

CPS fitted a 4.7M diameter turntable capable of manoeuvring two cars on the disc. Using the available driveway and parking space four cars could be safely and efficiently parked.

“I couldn‘t believe how easy it was to operate the turntable. I didn‘t even have to get out of the car!”. exclaimed Mr N.

Award Winning Design Incorporating a Two Car Turntable Installation

Case Study No. 16

The conversion of an old school building requiring on-site parking with a turnaround facility. No parking on the property or on the street outside was available. Winchester

The Problem:

To convert the back garden which was triangular shaped into a landscaped idyll for a professional couple, combined with subtle parking and turnaround for two cars.

The Solution:

A CPS inset two car turntable was installed featuring tasteful blocking which matched two other decorative circles. By fitting a car turntable CPS created a user friendly, safe method of vehicle movement within the garden setting.

“A wonderful, innovative addition to our garden design. We think the car turntable helped win the award”. Ms H. and Mr C.

Owner Delighted at the CPS Suggestion of Parking Safely and Securely in the Basement
Case Study No. 17

On the advice of CPS, the owner of this prestigious new build project was able to almost double the floor area of the property and provide hidden parking for 2 cars in a basement garage. Surrey

The Problem:
The need for secure parking off the road but at the same time maximising the soft landscaped area.

The Solution:
By design, a CPS 2CarTM 5.2M diameter turntable allows two executive cars to be turned around efficiently and easily within the confines of the underground garage. The parking is user-friendly whilst complying with all the requirements of environmental, safety and insurance issues relevant to lawful off-road parking.

Safe, Convenient Parking for Three Family Cars
Case Study No.18

In a delightful, leafy, riverside location, the homeowner and his growing family found lawful, convenient parking almost impossible due to the access and exit restrictions of a narrow lane. Buckinghamshire

The Problem:

The family had no alternative but to park their vehicles in a row along the incredibly narrow lane, and when it was time to drive away they had to perform the dangerous manoeuvre of reversing and avoiding each others cars and the hedgerow.

The Solution:

A CPS 7.00M diameter turntable was installed sympathetically onto the property frontage. So now, with the click of a button, the cars parked on the turntable can be rotated to an exiting position in readiness to join the lane in a safe, lawful forward direction. CPS are proud to have contributed to the renewed family harmony!
