Domestic turntables can provide that essential car turnaround facility for on-site parking. CPS Turntables greatly enhance a property's amenities, desirability and resale value by providing on-site family parking and vehicle turnaround facilities. Estate Agents regard any property not having on-site parking with a turnaround area or a turntable as 'ideal for refurbishment'. One of the top priorities for most new buyers is authorized onsite parking for all the family’s cars. This reflects the amenities which they expect to enjoy from the property and ultimately reflects the future valuation of the property itself. In addition, a CPS Turntable may well enable the property fully comply with current Health & Safety requirements as well as those needed by Insurers to comply with policy demands. CPS car turntables can upgrade turnaround facilities wherever space is a premium, restricted or difficult to access.

A vehicle can be driven into its parking location, turned and driven back out into the road with maximum safety and within the legal requirements of many Local Councils. Safety experts recognise that it is essential, in the best interests of safety and to reduce accidents, for vehicles to enter and leave the highway in a forward direction. Over 3,500 serious accidents and an estimated 35,000 more incidents are believed to occur annually that are of a minor nature or are subject to small insurance claims. Local Authorities, the Police, Insurers and Health & Safety executives regard a property as 'sub standard' when vehicle movements both to and from the highway cannot be made in a forward direction. CPS car turntables can dramatically reduce the risk of such incidents.

Manual or Push Button
Operation can be either manual (by pushing or by winding a handle) or automatically by means of a push button control.
 
Size and Surface Finish
The size (diameter) of the turntable can be varied An inconspicuous CPS turntable can blend in with any driveway finish and can also provide easier access to garages, carports, or any previously inaccessible areas.
Single-Car Turntables
...allow one vehicle to be turned round easily and efficiently. No more reversing down the drive in the rain and the ice - just safe, simple access to house and garage.

Two-Car Turntables
...allow two vehicles to be turned round easily and efficiently. The first car drives in and parks on the turntable with the driver’s door to the outside. The turntable is then rotated so that the second car can park with its driver’s door also to the outside. Both passenger doors are adjacent. Now it’s simple to rotate the turntable to allow either vehicle to drive out forwards. The turntable also acts as a permanent parking site for two cars. No more difficult reversing down the drive in the rain and the ice just safe, simple and practical use of available space.

Multi-Car Turntables
At CPS we don’t just produce one and two car turntables, in fact we can design and construct systems for parking several cars at once. This concept relies on the actual turntable being the parking space.
When a car enters the site to park it is a simple matter to turn the turntable until an empty parking space is suitably aligned. Similarly each car is “rotated” into position for driving out of the site when it needs to. The schematics shown here have been designed to park 3/4 cars on a very small site while allowing them to enter and leave by driving forwards, often necessary to comply with planning regulations, safety requirements or insurance. We also calculate that this size of turntable could accommodate 7 “Smart” cars!

Commercial turntables are generally stronger and larger to accommodate heavier traffic use. They may also incorporate additional control and safety facilities required by commercial  building regulations. A CPS Turntable can turn an "impossible" site into one suitable for development and commercial use.

Over the years that we have been manufacturing turntables, we have designed and built a number of systems for commercial applications. Obviously these are all "custom" units for applications ranging from turning an Articulated Lorry around at a National Exhibition Venue to allowing a small "underground" site to be used as Parking for office staff.

We have designed and built a number of turnaround solutions for businesses including: new multi-flat / apartment developments, shared turnaround use by 2 or more property developments, underground parking developments, staff parking schemes, office developments & refurbishments, set into a car lift or 90° entrance to parking area etc.

Medium side vans / trucks carry out the majority of business deliveries. Some use our turntables for short-term parking and turnaround.

We have also fitted turntables for use by coaches at hotels, at coach stations, articulated lorry delivering to a town centre precinct, daily rubbish collection from tower or office blocks.  All of these still need to enter and leave the Highway forwards. In all of these situations a turntable provides the most cost effective solution.
