CPS Car Turntables are manufactured to our own well-tried and tested design. Our prime design emphasis is on safety; ease of use, durability and to remain affordable. They are made and installed to meet our stringent quality control standards. Each project design & specification is assessed for safety, user friendliness, to be a sound financial investment, to have low operating cost and require minimal routine maintenance.

Type: A CPS Car Turntable is a Full Diameter Platform, of Inset design. It is braked for walkover safety. It fits flush, or slightly proud with a tapered ramp, to the surrounding area level.
A surface fixed option is available to install into an existing sound concrete base.

Loading: CPS turntables are designed to car parking standard, i.e. 2.5Kn/sq.M. 9Kn imposed for vehicles for vehicles up to 2.5 Ton Gross Vehicle Weight and/or 1.25Kg per axle load. 5Kn/M2 - 18Kn imposed for 5 Ton Gross Vehicle Weight and/or 2.5Kg per axle load. Special: as requested

Pit Drainage: Subject to local soil condition – connect to storm water drain, soakaway, etc. 
Peripheral Bearings: 5-200mm diameter with Sealed for Life Ball Bearing Journals as Standard.
Disc Centralisation: Self-aligning, ‘sealed for life’ ball bearing or tapered roller journal, nylon bush / thrust washer.
Rotating Disc: A steel fabrication, fully corrosion protected with a proprietary non-skid surface finish,
coloured to customer choice – mid grey is standard.
Optional Colour: To customer requirements / project specification - please advise BS number.
Optional Disc Finishes: Tarmac, brick paviors, concrete slabs, granite setts, etc. to customer’s choice. 
Manual Rotation Options: Push on the vehicle - Rotate a handle - Insert & push on a handle.
Power Drive Unit: Normally sited adjacent to turntable pit edge and at rotating disc level.
Motor speed geared down to drive disc around at approximately 1 rpm or less
for longer commercial and 2 vehicle Turntables.
Powered Rotation Options: 12v DC electric geared-motor c/w battery and charger, (solar panel).

general specification

Construction: All CPS Turntables utilise the high strength and durability of sculptured fabricated steel tried and tested by us over more than 20 years.

Load Capacity: Each turntable is designed to accommodate Cars MPV's, 4WD's etc. up to two and a half tonne gross vehicle weight.

Surface Finish: A comprehensive range of surface finishes are available, for example granite setts, paviors, natural stone, tarmac, etc. The standard non-slip surface finish can be colour coded to blend in with the surrounding area or driveway finish.

Sizes: The standard sizes range from three to four metre diameter. These accommodate current production cars and small and medium sized vans and trucks likely to be parked overnight in domestic situations. Larger wheel based vehicle turntables are available from the CPS Commercial range.

Rotation Options: "Manual rotation" of the turntable is achieved by simply pushing against the car. this can even be achieved by a small child. Extra leverage can be generated by inserting a handle, available from CPS. An alternative manual system uses a rotating handle to turn the vehicle around. In the best interests of safety, manual rotation turntables are always fitted with a parking brake to prevent them moving under foot whilst being walked over.

Powered rotation is achieved either by 12v DC Geared-electric motor or electro-hydraulic power-pack. These normally rotate the turntable at one revolution per minute and incorporate a "slipping clutch" safety feature, which immediately halts rotation should the vehicle come up against an obstruction. 

Rotation control is via a hand operated finger push button, which is mounted away from the turntable in a safe and convenient position. Alternatively via a handheld radio transmitter button.

It is our policy to keep the turntable size as small as practically possible to comfortably accommodate the vehicles regularly using it whilst ensuring rotational clearance for the front and/or rear overhang of the car within the site limiting factors.
 
SATISFY LEGAL REQUIREMENTS A CPS Turntable can enable homeowners to satisfy the legal and planning requirements for on-site parking. They help to increase capacity in restricted sites, saving possible legal or insurance problems caused by constantly mounting the kerb to park off-road.

PROVIDE SAFER ACCESS A CPS Turntable can provide safer access to the road by allowing vehicles to enter and leave in a forward direction making life better for driver, passengers, pedestrians and other road users.

RECLAIM A GARDEN A CPS Turntable can release land currently needed for vehicle turning. This can then be replanted and landscaped to enjoy as additional garden. A two-car turntable only requires about 6M (20’) width to turn two cars around safely.

SATISFY PLANNING DEMANDS CPS Turntables satisfy the Planner’s and Highway Department’s demands for planning consent and or conditions, by providing the vehicle turnaround facility within the boundaries of a property. This applies to single and all multi-residential developments, restricted business or commercial site development for staff and visitor, parking, rubbish collection vehicle and rear loading goods delivery / collection trucks / lorries.

VERSATILE CPS Turntables have been designed and installed for applications as varied as roundabouts for coaches at hotels, helicopter landing pads, motor trade display, easier access to workshops and lifts, in fact almost any situation where something needs turning around.
